Question on the Exotic Features bonus

I joined this forum to confirm something about the purchase of this DVD.

When I buy the DVD in its current state (which is minus the exotic DVD), I will get an email of some sort with the download link to the new DVD when it comes out?

I just want to be sure I don't make a mistake in ordering now when I should be waiting until after March 30th because the exotic DVD would be very relevant to me.

Hi Dachinster,

Yes, you are correct. Here's how it will work:

If you purchase now, you will receive the link to download the 6 volume series immediately. Then, when Exotic Features becomes available (March 30), you will receive an e-mail to download that volume as well for free.

When the physical DVD set becomes available on March 30, you will be sent an email asking for you to confirm whether you in fact still want the DVDs (I know this seems redundant, but we have a some international customers who have asked us not to send the DVDs because of the Customs fees in their countries). Once you confirm, you will be sent the DVD set, which includes Disc 7 (Exotic Features).

It is the same with me. Shipping the DVD to me would cost more than the DVD set itself by the time it reaches me.

Next question: If I somehow miss the email or it gets accidentally deleted or some other unforseen event happens and I realise the exotic DVD has been released, is there something I need to save from the original purchase to show I purchased the DVD in order to receive another link? And to whom do I speak to about this? Customer Care?

Yes, we handle all customer service in-house, and I think everyone in this forum will attest that we take very good care of our customers. If for some reason you miss the e-mail when Exotic Features is available for download, just email my team at support@slickforce.com, and they will send you the link manually. They will simply need your e-mail address that you used to purchase, and possibly your confirmation number from your original purchase, but we're pretty good at locating your account. We make it really easy for you.

Thanks Nick. I actually purchased that magazine with Vida for the amazing photography which led me to researching who did it and that led to the blog and then to here. I must say, it was very inspiring :)

Great work! If those DVDs could make me retouch with the skill of 1/4 of what I see around here, then it would be worth it.

Ok, so today is the 30th, but I read here that some people are saying that some things are missing from some Discs.

Has this been corrected?

I'm not sure what you're referring to, as I have received no complaints about anything being missing from any of the discs.

One customer asked where the hi-res images from the advanced volumes were available, and I responded with the link in the Tools section on this forum where they are available for free download with your purchase of Mastering Retouching.

We sold out of our entire advanced supply at the convention and haven't had a single complaint or issue with anything missing.

All discs are complete and working perfectly, and are being delivered on time.

Those who ordered downloads 1-6 will receive a link to download Volume 7 by midnight tonight Pacific Time.

For those who ordered hard copies, they will begin shipping today and continue throughout the week. Domestic (US) orders please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. International (non-US) orders, please allow 1-3 weeks.

Sorry Nick,
I was referring to the guy who said that the hi-res images were missing from one of the downloads. I want to burn them off to DVDs as soon as I download them so depending on the file format (example if it is an ISO file we are downloading), I was concerned about having to download the images separately because then they won't natively be on the DVD when I burn the ISO file.

If I download now, will I get all 7 discs complete? Or will I have to wait until midnight Pacific Time?

That's actually a great question. We're uploading the finalized Volume 7 to the server as we speak (you know I always like to make last-minute revisions for best quality) so yes, the best bet for now is to wait until midnight if you want to receive all 7 volumes at once.

Rest assured, if you order today, and only see 6 volumes in your download links, you will be sent the 7th one within 24 hours.

I'm not sure what you mean by link...you mean you still haven't received download links? Those should be instant when your order. If you haven't received them e-mail support@slickforce.com and they can resend them to you. Remember to check your junk mail.

All DVDs have already been shipped. The pre-order customers' orders went out first. Depending on where in the world you live, please allow anywhere from 3 to 21 days to receive your order. US orders should arrive sometime next week.

Yes, Exotic Features comes both as a download as well as in the DVD set. All customers who bought the original 6 volumes should have been sent a link to download number 7. If you haven't received the download link for Volume 7 (Exotic Features), just message me the e-mail address that you used to purchase and I'll have the link re-sent to you.
